Scholarships at AVC

Quite a number of Antelope Valley College players are being considered for University basketball scholarship. The sophomores that are looking to move up to the next level with scholarships are;

George McGrew, 6'8", 225, sophomore, forwardGeorge McGrew, 6’8”, 225 Forward

George will be heading to a yet undecided Division I University.  George’s academic’s are in order for the D-1 level.

 

 

 

 

Kyisean Reed, 6'7", 190, sophomore, forwardKyisean Reed, 6’7”, 215, Forward/Wing.

Kyisean has signed with D-1, NCAA bound, #17 nationally ranked Utah State University.  Kyisean needs to complete his academics studies this spring and summer to qualify at Utah State.

Jason Logan, 6'3", 180, sophomore, guardJason Logan, 6’3”, 180, guard

Jason Logan is being considered at the D-1 level for his basketball and his high jump track skills.  Logan would prefer a basketball scholarship and his academics are solid.

 

 

Gary Winfield, 6'5", 215, sophomore, forwardGary Winfield, 6’5”, 215, Forward

Gary is being recruited by both D-1 and D-2 universities but due to his “clock issue” he will most likely be headed to a D-2 school.  Gary has solid academics.

 

 

 

Nick Bennett, 6'2", 180, sophomore, guardNick Bennett, 6’2”, 180, 2-Guard

Nick was being recruited by a number of D-1 universities this year.  Because Bennett’s stats this year were not as high as was expected, it is difficult to determine at what level he will be recruited.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles Cole, 6'6", 195, sophomore, forwardCharles Cole, 6’6”, 195, Forward

Although Charles did not get a great deal of playing time during his sophomore year, he could give a D-2 or NAIA team a boost.  Excellent academics.

 

 

 

 

Edwin Herrera, 6'2", 190, sophomore, guard

Edwin Herrera, 6’2”, 190

Edwin is a 2-guard that is strong, good outside shooter that would help a NAIA college.  Solid academics.
