Quite a number of Antelope Valley College players are being considered for University basketball scholarship. The sophomores that are looking to move up to the next level with scholarships are;
George McGrew, 6’8”, 225 Forward
George will be heading to a yet undecided Division I University. George’s academic’s are in order for the D-1 level.
Kyisean Reed, 6’7”, 215, Forward/Wing.
Kyisean has signed with D-1, NCAA bound, #17 nationally ranked Utah State University. Kyisean needs to complete his academics studies this spring and summer to qualify at Utah State.
Jason Logan is being considered at the D-1 level for his basketball and his high jump track skills. Logan would prefer a basketball scholarship and his academics are solid.
Gary Winfield, 6’5”, 215, Forward
Gary is being recruited by both D-1 and D-2 universities but due to his “clock issue” he will most likely be headed to a D-2 school. Gary has solid academics.
Nick Bennett, 6’2”, 180, 2-Guard
Nick was being recruited by a number of D-1 universities this year. Because Bennett’s stats this year were not as high as was expected, it is difficult to determine at what level he will be recruited.
Charles Cole, 6’6”, 195, Forward
Although Charles did not get a great deal of playing time during his sophomore year, he could give a D-2 or NAIA team a boost. Excellent academics.
Edwin Herrera, 6’2”, 190
Edwin is a 2-guard that is strong, good outside shooter that would help a NAIA college. Solid academics.
