Looks like Idaho can’t get enough of AVC’s PG DaShawn Gomez. Gomez spent the weekend at
Idaho on an official visit and now head coach Don Verlin flew in to continue the recruiting process at Antelope Valley College. It looks to me like Coach Verlin sees Gomez as a key part of moving his program to the next level. With three years of eligibility left, DaShawn’s leadership, basketball savvy and scoring ability is a prayer answered to any D-1 team on the way up or planning to go further in the NCAA tournament.
There is tough competition for Gomez. He is headed to the University of Chicago from the Horizon Conference this weekend. Add to that Arizona State University and the head coach and his staff from Fullerton State university were in attendance at Antelope Valley College today. More on that tomorrow.
As I have often said in the last year, DaShawn Gomez is the best point guard I have seen in the past decade at Antelope Valley College. We hate to lose him after only one year but where ever he goes he will be the leader that every D-1 team needs to succeed that the top level.
