When I walked into the gym today and saw the University of Idaho Associate Head Coach Ray Lopes,
I knew things were serious. As long as I have known Jason JJ Johnson, Idaho has been recruiting him. Jason has improved so much since he has arrived at AVC…gained 15 pounds of muscle, became a master of slashing into the paint, and knocking down his patented three ball… it looked to me that Idaho feels this is their time to get the verbal commitment from Jason. With two Antelope Valley College sophomores already committed to D-1 Universities; Gomez to Iona, and Murphy to Texas Christian University, could it be that Jason is ready to commit?
With a GPA of over 3.0, and a growing reputation of being the top JUCO shooting guard in California with a great work ethic and attitude, Jason Johnson will provide the school he chooses a great catch. What will happen? Beats me but there was a serious conversation going on when I left the gym long after the practice ended.
